Event success for campaign

With over 30,000 visitors at this year’s LAMMA event the ‘Chlorpyrifos. Say NO to DRIFT’ campaign is also pleased to report an extremely successful presence, with highlights including:
- 19,000 ‘Chlorpyrifos. Say NO to DRIFT’ carrier bags containing campaign materials and guidance leaflets handed out over the two days
- Thousands of leaflets and LERAP nozzle lists given out, questions answered
- Fantastic feedback with the vast majority of growers already using low-drift nozzles and are using them for chlorpyrifos applications
- Very enthusiastic and supportive responses from growers and people watching the low-drift spraying film clip on the stand
- A further 280 growers, agronomists and contractors signed-up their support for the campaign at the stand, pledging to abide by the guidelines
- Interview by Farmers Weekly with Dr Steve Ellis (ADAS UK Ltd) and Steve Norman (Dow) as part of a feature on Wheat Bulb fly and the campaign
- Establishment of many key contacts from nozzle manufacturers, agrochemical companies, agronomy groups, organisations and businesses
- Huge generation of energy and momentum on the campaign
